As your marriage celebrant it is my role to ensure that all legal requirements are met and you have a valid and legally binding marriage, so at this first official meeting we will complete your Notice of Intended Marriage form (NOIM). This must be lodged with your chosen celebrant at least one month and one day prior to your wedding date and no more than 18 months prior. There is documentation that is essential to bring to this meeting, I will inform you on what to bring, giving you time to ensure that you have the documents that we require.

At this meeting we will also start to plan your ceremony and we will continue to work together during the lead up to your wedding day to create the ceremony that reflects you as a couple and fulfills your expectations and vision. A form called The Declaration Form will also need to be completed prior to your wedding day. This can be done at your rehearsal or at another time prior to your wedding if a rehearsal isn’t required.

After your marriage and within 14 days, I will forward all legal documentation to Births, Deaths and Marriages within the state that your marriage took place.
